Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

A facelift (also known as a rhytidectomy) is a general term for any surgical procedure that improves signs of aging in your face and/or neck by repositioning or removing skin, fat and/or muscle.

Facelifts are considered cosmetic restorative surgeries and cannot fundamentally change your appearance or stop the aging process. They also can’t treat superficial wrinkles, sun damage or irregularities in your skin color. Facelifts are very individualized surgeries that are unique to each person’s face and their result goals.

Who gets facelifts?

In general, you’re a good candidate for facelift surgery if: You’re physically healthy and don’t have a medical condition that affects your body’s ability to heal. You don’t smoke. You’re mentally healthy and have realistic expectations for facelift results.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty) + Alarplasty

Rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping surgery, improves the shape, size, and symmetry of a person’s nose, bringing it into better proportion with the rest of the face. When performed by a skilled, qualified cosmetic surgeon, rhinoplasty can be a rewarding and life-enhancing procedure—patients often notice that their overall appearance has improved, as the nose they see now looks natural, like the nose they have always thought they should have.

Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?

Men and women of all ages benefit from rhinoplasty. Nose reshaping is one of the more popular cosmetic surgery procedures for teenage patients too, although cosmetic surgeons take special care when evaluating whether or not a younger patient is ready for rhinoplasty. Physically, the nose must be fully developed—typically by around age 14 for girls and 16 for boys. Younger patients also need to demonstrate emotional maturity and understanding about the cosmetic surgery process.

Neck Lift (Platysmaplasty)

The medical term for a neck lift is platysmaplasty. The procedure surgically removes excess skin and fat from the neck to address age-related wrinkling and creasing in this area, and provide a smoother, slimmer profile.

A cosmetic neck lift may be performed on its own, or in conjunction with another procedure such as a facelift, soft tissue augmentation with dermal fillers or eye lift.

Neck Lift Surgery: Procedure and Care

Neck surgery can take place in the surgeon’s office-based surgical facility, an outpatient surgery center or in a hospital.

The surgeon will ensure the person is comfortable during the procedure by using anesthesia. A general anesthesia puts the person in a deep sleep for the surgery. Sedative medications allow the patient to remain awake but relaxed, with local anesthesia so there is no pain.

Neck Liposuction (Submental)

For patients who would like to reduce a double chin or excessive neck fat, we offer neck liposuction and jowl liposuction. Our surgeons are experts when it comes to performing this treatment with outcomes that provide contour to the neck and create a more youthful appearance. Because fat cells are targeted during neck liposuction treatment, the outcome can be long lasting (barring major changes in your diet and lifestyle habits).

Patients who are dealing with sagging skin in the area, or muscle bands, may benefit from combining neck liposuction with a submentoplasty (muscle band surgery) and Sidelaze laser, which will tighten the sagging skin and muscle.

How Neck Liposuction Works

his procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, IV sedation, or general anesthesia, depending on your unique circumstances and the amount of fat that will need to be removed. When the treatment begins, your surgeon will make small incisions below the earlobes and under the chin. The incisions are very small and heal with virtually no scarring.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is a type of surgery that repairs droopy eyelids and may involve removing excess skin, muscle and fat. As you age, your eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken. As a result, excess fat may gather above and below your eyelids, causing sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids and bags under your eyes.

Besides making you look older, severely sagging skin around your eyes can reduce your side vision (peripheral vision), especially the upper and outer parts of your field of vision. Blepharoplasty can reduce or eliminate these vision problems and make your eyes appear younger and more alert.

Why it's done

You might consider blepharoplasty if droopy or sagging eyelids keep your eyes from opening completely or pull down your lower eyelids. Removing excess tissue from your upper eyelids can improve your vision. Upper and lower lid blepharoplasty can make your eyes appear younger and more alert.

Ears Reduction (Otoplasty)

Otoplasty — also known as cosmetic ear surgery — is a procedure to change the shape, position or size of the ears. You might choose to have otoplasty if you’re bothered by how far your ears stick out from your head.

You might also consider otoplasty if your ear or ears are misshapen due to an injury or birth defect.

Otoplasty can be done at any age after the ears have reached their full size — usually after age 5 — through adulthood.

Why it's done

Otoplasty is typically done on both ears to optimize symmetry. Otoplasty won't change the location of your ears or alter your ability to hear.

Breast Implants (Augmentation)

Breast augmentation — also known as augmentation mammoplasty — is surgery to increase breast size. It involves placing breast implants under breast tissue or chest muscles.

For some women, breast augmentation is a way to feel more confident. For others, it’s part of rebuilding the breast for various conditions.

If you’re considering breast augmentation, talk to a plastic surgeon. Make sure you understand what surgery involves, including possible risks, complications and follow-up care.

Why it's done

Breast augmentation might help you enhance your appearance if you think your breasts are small or that one is smaller than the other and this impacts how you dress or the type of bra needed to help with the asymmetry.

Brachioplasty / Arm Lift

A brachioplasty is a surgery that reshapes the back part of your upper arm, from your arm to your elbow. It’s also called an arm lift. It removes extra skin and tissue. It makes your upper arm look smoother.

When a person gains a lot of weight, his or her skin slowly stretches over time. If you lose a lot of weight, your skin may not have enough elasticity to spring back into place. This can lead to extra skinfolds of tissue. These are likely to be under your arm and chin, and on your upper thighs and lower stomach. These changes may happen after you have lost a lot of weight from weight-loss surgery.

Why might I need a brachioplasty?

This surgery may be for you if you recently lost a lot of weight. It’s often done on people after they have had weight-loss surgery. You may not be happy with how you look after weight-loss surgery if you have extra folds of tissue under your arm.

Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)

Known as a Brazilian butt lift, this procedure removes excess fat from one area of the body and injects it into the buttocks. In many cases, the fat is removed from a “problem area,” such as the hips, thighs or lower abdomen, so the results improve the aesthetics of the entire lower body.

Despite its name, Brazilian butt lift surgery has no ties to Brazilian culture; rather, it is a nod to the Brazilian surgeon who first performed the procedure.

Who is a good candidate for a Brazilian butt lift?

Along with diet and exercise, genetics play a role in the size and shape of your body. Some people are genetically predisposed to a flat backside, and surgery is the only option to create larger and rounder buttocks.

Unlike butt implants, which are filled with silicone and implanted in the buttocks, a Brazilian butt lift uses your own fat to reshape your buttocks for a more natural look and feel.

Body Liposuction / Body Contouring

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas. Other names for liposuction include lipoplasty and body contouring.

Liposuction isn’t typically considered an overall weight-loss method or a weight-loss alternative. If you’re overweight, you’re likely to lose more weight through diet and exercise or through bariatric procedures — such as gastric bypass surgery — than you would with liposuction.

Why it's done

Liposuction is used to remove fat from areas of the body that haven't responded to diet and exercise.

Fat Transfer (Gluteus)

Fat transfer to the breast and buttocks requires obtaining liquid fat and subsequent injection of this liquid fat into the appropriate areas. The necessary fat is obtained by liposuction through several very short incisions. It is often taken from the abdomen or inner thigh but can be taken from any area in which there is excess fatty tissue present.

The aspirated fat is processed gently by centrifuging, filtering or rinsing, to prepare for injection. The fat is then injected where needed. The fat is evenly distributed into the area by injecting small amounts into the tissues in many different areas so that the injected fat is well surrounded by healthy tissue. This ensures that the transplanted fat remains in contact with the surrounding tissues that must supply it with oxygen and nutrients.

How is it done?

Fat transfer can be used for buttocks augmentation by injecting the fat into the substance of the gluteus maximus muscle. This location provides the maximum amount of blood supply and nourishment to the transferred fat, and the correction can be natural in texture and long lasting.

Vaginoplasty (Reconstruction)

A vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure where a vagina is created. It involves removing the penis, as well as the testicles and scrotum, if an orchiectomy was not previously performed. A vaginoplasty involves rearranging the current tissue in the genital area to create the vaginal canal and external genitalia, the labia.

To create the vaginal canal, the surgeon uses a combination of the skin surrounding the existing penis in addition to the scrotal skin. Sometimes, an additional skin graft from the abdomen or thigh is needed to achieve a full vaginal canal.

Who is eligible for vaginoplasty?

Vaginoplasty is generally only recommended for women with vaginal defects or who have undergone surgery for vaginal cancer. In some instances, it may be recommended to correct vaginal looseness caused by childbirth. Even in these instances, a variety of natural alternatives may be explored before resorting to surgery.

Lipo Contouring (Face / Full)

Liposuction of the face, head, and neck is designed to reshape specific concerned areas of your face and neck by removing excess and unwanted fat deposits. Face liposuction helps patients improve their facial and neck contour and proportions by etching out of unwanted fat areas.

Our expert plastic surgeon Dr. Rainha advises patients that although face liposuction will remove unwanted fat and improve contour, it does not eliminate redundant skin. For patients who will have significant amounts of redundant skin, consider a neck lift and/or facelift.

Why it's done

If you are bothered by excess fat deposits especially when located in your neck that make your face look chubby and your photographs undesirable.

Gluteus Augmentation

Buttock augmentation, or gluteal augmentation, is used to improve the contour, size and/or shape of the buttocks. This is done through the use of buttock implants, fat grafting or sometimes a combination of the two.

Buttock implants are silicone-filled devices that are surgically placed deep within the tissues of the buttock. Buttock augmentation through the use of fat grafting involves the transfer of fat from one area of the body into the tissues of the buttocks.

What gluteus augmentation surgery can do

• Increase fullness, roundness and projection of your butt or buttocks
• Improve the balance of your figure
• Enhance your self-image and self-confidence

Labiaplasty (Reduction)

The term labiaplasty refers to a procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora. It is the most commonly performed aesthetic genital plastic surgery and it can relieve symptoms women experience from twisting and tugging of the labia.

Reasons patients want a labiaplasty

Women opt for surgery for a variety of reasons, including pain from twisting and tugging of the labia when riding a bike or during intercourse, itching, irritation and self-consciousness.

You will love the new shape of you!
